If Partners Clinic is not the best fit for your abortion care, please use one of these online resources to find an abortion provider near you.
Abortion remains legal in the State of Maryland. We cannot give you any legal advice regarding abortion in your state.
To ensure the safety and privacy of our patients and staff, we do not allow children in the clinic. If you need assistance with childcare, please let us know when you make your appointment.
In Maryland, one parent/guardian must be informed about your abortion decision. If you feel you cannot share this with a parent/guardian, one of our clinicians will evaluate you on your ability to make this decision on your own. Please call to learn more.
We will keep your information confidential and we are HIPAA-compliant. We use an encrypted online system to reserve appointments. We will not call, text, or email you regarding an appointment without your explicit permission.
Sometimes anti-choice protesters gather near abortion clinics. There may be protesters present on the date of your appointment. The clinic is located on private property and has a private entrance; protestors are not allowed on the property. We do everything we can to keep our patients safe from anti-choice harassment. Please call us if you have any concerns.
We require you to bring a support person with you that can stay in the area for the duration of your appointment. Your support person does not need to be in the clinic for the entire time, but they must be present to meet you at the end of each day. Support people will not be allowed to accompany the patient to the procedure room, but can accompany the patient throughout some other steps in the process.
An uncomplicated abortion will not affect your fertility. If you would like to discuss family planning and birth control options, a clinician is happy to do so at the time of your appointment.
Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) are clinics, or sometimes mobile vans, that look like real medical clinics. CPCs, many of which are funded by religious institutions, try to stop people from having abortions by scaring them, shaming them, giving misinformation, and lying to them about their options.
CPCs do not offer the full range of reproductive health care services. They are not real medical clinics, which means that they don’t have to follow HIPAA or keep your information private. CPCs will advertise free ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, and counseling to lure people in. Additionally, look at their website to see if they offer abortion services or birth control: CPCs do not offer these services. Other indications of a CPC include advertising for “abortion pill reversal” (the abortion pill cannot be reversed safely), pressuring you to choose adoption or continue your pregnancy, or claiming that abortion is unsafe.
If you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant, you deserve to go to a real medical clinic and receive accurate information about your options. If you want to see a list of CPCs in your area, check out websites like exposefakeclinics.com, crisispregnancycentermap.com, and The Fake Clinic Database.
